The German stance in relation to Greece's economic problem and the refusal to write off its debt, invests most of its rhetoric both in highlighting the particular inherent weaknesses of the Greek economy, and in a Protestant-style moral approach that imposes punishment on the borrower due to the irresponsible behavior he has shown in the past. Without questioning the existence of structural economic problems in the case of Greece, the reminder of the systemic parameters of the euro-crisis, the financial practices followed today by German corporate giants, but also the special favor with which German debts were treated in the past, cannot be absent from a sincere dialogue on the fate of the Greek problem.
