Castles Fall from Within

Castles Fall from Within

Introduction

Geopolitical developments across the globe are rapid and interconnected. We are in the transition from a unipolar geopolitical system to a multipolar one, and all serious players are trying to upgrade their role in the emerging geopolitical situation. But everyone? No. There is one country that is trying not to upgrade its position but to lower it. Unfortunately, this country is our homeland. I am not talking about its people, but about the elites.

Much is written and here I would like to offer my own reading of the events. The following is a personal reading of the events of a Greek in the diaspora who evaluates what is happening selflessly.

The casual observer may consider the events as yet another piece in the erosion of the Greek geopolitical footprint, but they are all connected. Over time, he will observe a series of events, interconnected in one direction.

 Definitions

The Greek people

The Greek Nation has been in the region for thousands of years. Many have tried, are trying and will try to annihilate it. But this small Nation resists. As Professor Mr. I. Mazis said, the Greek is "Patriotic, Dignified and Free".

This creates the anger of the elders or caused it. Although now our country has become "spineless", they always remember its resistance character at all times.

The Language

It has a language with enormous depth that promotes thought and does not let it be defeated. The language contains historical elements and elements of the culture of the people who use it. For this reason, if you want to understand the culture of a people, learn their language. The Greek language carries historical memories of millennia and is also the most descriptive language with enormous depth. Sciences are based on the Greek language.

Religion

Religion is an invisible pillar of the culture and thought of a people in all peoples. Here comes the heterodoxy of Greece with the other members of Europe. Let us not forget that most wars wear the cloak of religion. The papal West preferred that Constantinople be surrendered to the Ottomans because this rebellious Nation did not change its doctrine, why should it help it now?

Do we belong to the West or the East?

This question torments Greek society. It is divided, trying to find its way without a Hellenic-centric “compass”. Many exclaim, those who follow the narratives of the elites, “we will never become Europe”. Why become Europe? Europe is a culturally heterogeneous system based on Greek culture and distorted, without an anthropocentric connotation. Even the name is borrowed from Greek mythology.

My view, not Nationalist, is that Greece does not belong to the West, nor to the East. Greece is a country and a Nation with its own sign and culture. Greece has always been at the crossroads of civilizations and has given and taken from them. This is where our diversity lies. Europe has given a lot, for example the Enlightenment, but it developed on Greek civilization. It did not develop it.

The Hellenism/Turkey complex

The Hellenism/Turkey complex consists of Hellenism (Greece and Cyprus) and Turkey. Turkey is a revisionist power and wants to establish itself primarily as a regional hegemon and ultimately as a global power. To this end, Turkey works with long-term plans to achieve its goals. It uses the method of siege and intimidation very well with good results for it.

Greece does not demand anything, nor does it seem to have any solid plan. Foreign policy is used for petty partisan purposes, resulting in the country leading and lagging behind developments.

Turkey's main supporter is Europe, with the exception of France due to its interests in the Eastern Mediterranean, due to Turkey's large market and the dynamism of the population in terms of young people and especially Germany. Also Britain which is now simply the "long arm" of the USA which considers the Eastern Mediterranean region as a single space and not as a space consisting of countries. The opposition of German-occupied Europe and especially Germany is based on historical and religious reasons. Here the Greek people also enter the factor, which is insubordinate and free-thinking and always resistant.

Based on the above, the only way for Turkey's traditional friends (Germany and Britain) is to defeat Greece internally. For this purpose, they use the Greek elite.

The internal danger

The Greek state from its rebirth was set up as a protectorate. Hence the political elites were subordinate to some Great Power. Let us remember the first Pro-French, Pro-English, Pro-Russian parties but the Pro-Greek was completely absent. In today's era, the economic elite of Greece is not ethnocentric with its interest focused on making a profit even at the expense of Greece having special relations with Turkey. The dependence of the political elites on foreign centers of power and the economic system constitute an even greater danger.

The narratives

The geopolitical and geostrategic position of the country

Contrary to the narrative that the Greek elite is trying to serve us, “A small country (Greece) that is neighboring a large country (Turkey) and which Turkey happens to have great geopolitical and geostrategic importance for the great powers and that is why they give greater weight to Turkey,” it is lame. A look at the unmistakable map will put things on their feet.

Yes, Turkey is in a key position.

Yes, Turkey controls the straits and thus has flow control in the Black Sea.

However, without Greece, which dominates the entire Mediterranean and Aegean Sea from its geographical position, Turkey's geostrategic importance is greatly reduced. In my opinion, this is what Turkey wants to acquire with the "Blue Homeland" more than energy wealth, without this wealth being indifferent to it. In any case, Turkey was and is a predatory nation. Greece is a hub and embankment for the exit of the Central European land forces (see Germany) to the Mediterranean. And Germany has always been hostile to Greece, this small country that resists. It found it in the way of its aspirations in two World Wars (it seems to have become a national sport of Germany). In World War II, "little" Greece brought the Axis its first defeat and delayed Germany, resulting in the General finding them in winter in Russia. Hence the anger and resentment against Greece during the economic crisis.

Greece's position is being upgraded with the IMEC axis, the East Med energy axis, as well as the change in US energy policy (Drill Baby, Drill) with potential natural gas and oil deposits.

Greece is a small country

Yes, Greece is a small country but with a huge history. "Small" Greece has many reversals in power imbalances to show. I would like to remind the elites of Marathon, Thermopylae, Salamis, Plataea, Mycale, Gaugamela, Granicus, the epic of 1940, as just a few examples that the fearful elites who, out of fear of "losing the spoon and the juices", selectively forget.

I would like to quote something from Kostis Palamas here, if they know him, which I highly doubt:

"The greatness of peoples is not measured by the acre

"With the heart, the fire is measured and with the blood"

Impairment of Greece's geopolitical footprint

The systematic impairment of Greece's geopolitical power over time.

Particularly after the rise to power of the Germanophile, recently deceased Mr. Simitis, attempts are being made to reduce the geopolitical importance of Greece.

According to Systemic Geopolitical analysis, the pillars of Geopolitical power are Security, Economy, Politics and Culture/Information.

Security:

Armed forces: The Greek armed forces were and I believe are still, although I fear not for much longer, in a state of strength. Moreover, if it were not for Turkey, it would have already violated the borders in the Aegean. We all know that they do not dare to do anything if they are not sure and their internal political system cannot withstand a defeat by Greece in an engagement. There are certainly "honorable" efforts by the elite to reduce power. The government may proceed with purchases of weapons systems, some of which are correct, but always without comprehensive thought and always using the so-called arms diplomacy which has never paid off, nor is it going to pay off. The main effort to reduce military power is the humiliation of the officers of the armed forces, with a salary for laughing, or better for crying, resulting in a decrease in morale. Morale is a force multiplier. A government of "the best" should know that personnel are the power multiplier. After all, no matter how many weapons systems are available, if the operators are not there, they are useless. Critical question: Do they not know the above, so they are incompetent for the position they hold or is it done out of spite? No one wants to believe the second, but the first is equally dangerous for the country.

Internal security:

Risks to internal security are the wave of immigration and the low birth rate. The measures being taken are spasmodic without a "compass".

Alteration of the cohesion of Greek society and erosion of the social fabric.

The entry into Greece of all these irregular illegal immigrants, together with Turkish agents, constitutes a bombshell to the foundations of the cohesion of Greek society. I am talking about illegal immigrants under International Law, which the elites are complaining about.

International law stipulates that asylum applications are made in the first safe country. Consequently, those coming from a safe country like Turkey to Greece become illegal. Also, the usual educational level of all of them is low, resulting in them being dragged by their religious bigotry. The elites may talk about religious freedoms (understandable and accepted) but Islam is not only a religious system but also a legal one. Automatically, the laws of men are subordinate to the laws of God, so there is no need to comply with them. There are exceptions of course.

As a result, they are not integrated into the social fabric. In Finland, there are second and third generation people who do not speak the language.

Demographics:

The new generation is leaving Greece because the political elite has forbidden them to dream. It does not give them any perspective and vision. This generation is at its most fertile age, not to mention the cost of educating these young people who give the produced work of this education that the Greek people paid for for the benefit of others.

Lack of vision also leads to low fertility.

The government, instead of giving Greeks the vision to have children, is looking to immigrants to solve the demographic problem!

Economy:

Since the 1970s, the country has been deindustrialized, resulting in us importing almost everything. There were good Greek industries, e.g. Pitsos, Izola, Eskimo, but Greek trading capital managed to "extinguish" them. The economy is based only on tourism, and even on cheap tourism. The result is stagnation of incomes, not specialization. Greece has every chance of recreating its primary sector with high-quality products.

Manufacturing is dead and the defense industry is being driven into obsolescence by design.

The theory of unequal economic development in all its glory and with obvious results. Enslavement of a people without the use of weapons.

In the not-so-distant 1975, Greece and Turkey had the same GDP, and in 2025, Turkey had almost four times that!

Politics

Friedrich Ratzel says of Greece that it has made progress everywhere where its wretched government has not interfered.

The Greek political system has stagnated and reproduces itself with nepotism. The vision is missing. The National vision is missing. All that remains is the vision of the elites.

Appeasement: Appeasement could potentially be a tool to buy time for preparation, for a limited period of time, and a strong message of deterrence if clear red lines are crossed. This is how Kennedy acted in the Cuban Missile Crisis. Russia backed down when it received a message from the Russian ambassador in Washington, after a meeting with the president's brother, that the US was not bluffing and would use military means.

The Greek Elites are constantly retreating into a

Alliances: The government boasts that Greece has built alliances. However, they forget that alliances are two-way street. An alliance is formed with the aim of all members giving power to the others.

Military alliances: How is this possible when they themselves reduce the strength of the Greek armed forces? Who will take the Greek armed forces as a real ally if they cannot provide additional strength to the alliance and when all actions show that they have no intention of using force? How can anyone rely on an alliance with a phobic country? When they observe Turkey displaying its flag in the Eastern Mediterranean with the Oruc Reis, or most recently with the incidents in Kasos and Greece being phobic and not reacting, can anyone accuse them of lying because they do not trust Greece?

Political alliances: Who will take a country seriously when that country has become a slave colony and is the given "backbend"? They will simply look to solve the issues with the country that demands and creates problems in cohesion. Let us remember the parable of the Prodigal Son or the sacrifice of Iphigenia. Greece is led like Iphigenia to the altar and the political system not only does not react but also "drags the dance".

Culture

Greece, as Professor I. Mazis said, has a nuclear weapon but not only does it not use it, but it does everything possible not only to not use it but also to decommission it.

Education: The understanding of the word Education is not clear. Education is not only education, it is the development of kindness, of culture. Greek Universities and their teaching staff produce work, they produce thinking people and this is not the intended result. The “system” does not need thinking scientists, just experts on a subject without thinking. Hence the rapid deconstruction of the public education system in favor of the private one. We see, for example, in the USA the reaction against the students who used the “gray substance” to justify the massacre in Gaza and supported the Palestinians.

Language: The attempt to alter the Greek language aims at mild enslavement. When someone says that Ancient Greek is a dead language, it first shows the character of the speaker and his lack of intellectual acuity. Cutting off the teaching of the Ancient Greek language cuts off the newer one from its base, from its roots. Modern Greek may be spoken differently but has the same base. It is the continuation and evolution of a language whose depth is as great as the depth of Greek philosophy. Instead of being helped and becoming one of the cultural weapons of Greece, it is being destroyed. The depth of thought equals the depth of the language.

Let's not forget that Lenin, if I remember the saying correctly, said that if you want to conquer a people, destroy their language.

Regarding the elites who are "cut out for Greece", Kostis Palamas could not have been more descriptive again.

You have no gods, Olympus, nor any legends, Ossa.

You have a bunch of rascals, mother earth, bent over the tax,

The hollow and the idle despise your divine, harsh language,

of the Europeans, the laughingstocks and the ancients, the clowns…

But hope dies last and I hope the homeland changes course and takes the place it deserves.
