The European Union is a superpower economically. Politically, however, it still has serious weaknesses. Its potential to have a serious impact on global politics is limited. The reason is simple. It does not have, at least for the time being and despite the recently announced initiatives to create one in the future, a common foreign policy or a common defense.

Therefore, in order to defend its interests, peace, stability and democracy in the world, Europe must form a real political entity, that is, acquire a common foreign policy, security and defense policy and the means to implement this policy.

As is known, based on the Maastricht Treaty of 1992, the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP) was established as one of the main pillars of the Union's policies.
