The conference of the 'Overseas Republicans, Chapter Athens' on the topic of 'East Mediterranean Energy Security' was held successfully yesterday despite the very poor audiovisual media.
I made (or tried to make – the audiovisual media did not allow it) the following suggestion:
'the Defense industry and Logistics in Egypt, Israel, Cyprus and Greece. Mutual benefits arising from common research, development and cooperation.'

'Summary:
The objectives of my presentation are:
-It lists the geopolitical strategies, policies, positions and assumptions that mainly concern Greece but also the other players in the field of East Med energy security.
-It enhances and presents data that highlights the most important Greek Defense Industry and Logistics Groups and the activities of some of the most important Greek defense companies
– Presentation and comparison of data related to defense and industry, such as military spending, arms exports, arms imports, research and development spending, ease of doing business and resilience, population, ease of doing business index, GDP, etc. For the countries CY, EG, GR, IL, USA, TK
– It highlights and projects through very short videos the capabilities of the defense industry of GR / Eg / IΛ and the military exercises of the alliances Cy / IL / GR and GR / USA,
-It closes with the presentation of ideas, recommendations and proposals for strengthening the joint research, development and cooperation of the countries concerned and maximizing their mutual benefits, such as:
Maximize co-development, co-production and Follow-On support across all defense systems procurement and operations (> 30% of purchase cost)!
*State Encouragement and Support of the Ministry of Defense, the Defense Industry and Universities/Military Academies for defense and security research (+ 2% of the defense budget).
*Collaboration of the Greek Ament Industry and Logistics companies in the field of Logistics
Encouragement, Enhancement and Support of Reverse Engineering and Logistics. .
*Goal of Effective smart and cheap solutions for weapons procurement and equipment systems (DRONES, AI, Robots)
*Collaborate and follow central collective procurement to achieve more cost-effective solutions by implementing holistic procurement approach and industrial returns (IR).
*Communication and Cooperation between the Bodies of the Greek Defense Industry and Logistics with the Defense Officers.
*Cooperative Logistics, a database with information such as: Stock Holding, Materiel and Asset Requirements Exchange, Common Item Materiel Management, Electronic Provisioning, and a Forum Applied Logistics Consultancy!
*Smart Defense through the concentration and allocation of capabilities and resources, specialization of production, prioritization of actions and more effective coordination of efforts.
*Development of defense industry and logistics infrastructure in areas of physical protection.
*Participation in co-development-production of international equipment/systems programs, aiming to maximize the participation of the Defense Industry and the transfer of know-how.
Operation (institutional, organizational, legal) of government-controlled defense industrial units with private business activity criteria.
*Maximizing participation and utilization of actions and programs within the framework of the Permanent Structured Cooperation (PESCO) of the European Union to meet the operational requirements of the Armed Forces!
*Strengthen political and defense alliances because they are essential for ensuring the management of the energy resources of the Eastern Mediterranean!
