The sudden invasion of the coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to disrupt our daily lives, shock the global economy and lead states to take unprecedented emergency restrictive measures. Of course, the priority today is given to dealing with the pandemic, but there is also unspoken concern about the development of economic figures and especially for the real economy.

According to a recent study by IENE (www.iene.gr "The Greek Energy Sector - Annual Report 2019 - An IENE Study"), the energy dependence rate reaches 73,6%, a fact that is also confirmed by a corresponding work by Prof. Andriosopoulos, director of the Energy Management Research Center at ESCP (Europe Business School of London) (www.pelop.gr 27/11/2018) which determines this dependence at 74%.

Today, humanity is struggling to find ways and methods to deal with the new coronavirus pandemic. At the same time, there is widespread concern about whether the virus escaped by mistake or was a deliberate hostile action. With the experience of the writer as a representative in the past of the Greek Ministry of National Defense in international Biological and Chemical Weapons Management Organizations, an attempt will be made to approach the issue, not from a medical but from a military point of view.

Coronavirus as a National Security Threat Undesirable Scenarios

For decades, the possibility of the spread of an infectious disease has been high on the global hierarchy of threats. Human catastrophe has led even so-called "advanced" countries to engage in the dimension of biological warfare. A war that essentially involves the deliberate creation and dissemination of a contagious disease (not necessarily fatal) to an adversary that will weaken the latter's will and ability to react.
