Panagiotis Dakoutros*: Turkey-Israel relations and Greece's position
Greece, Turkey and Israel are among the most important players in the Eastern Mediterranean region in terms of military and economic power, cultural heritage and diplomatic influence. The relations between these countries have gone through various stages, both positive and negative. However, because history exists to teach us and not to provoke passions, the cool-headed observer of it can take advantage of the course of events and prepare for the future. Examining these relations in the light of realism, it is necessary to define Greece's goals and analyze the opportunities and possibilities for achieving them. Also, to examine the possible risks, mainly those stemming from the goals and possibilities of Turkey and Israel themselves, the reasons that brought these two countries together, and the causes that drove them apart.
