It is indisputable and known to the entire international community that Israel was the spotlight of US foreign policy in the Middle East and that of course Israel is a very pro-American country, possibly more than any other country in the world. Their relations were close and unbreakable for decades. This situation had been reversed in the last eight years with the Obama presidency, as a result of which US-Israeli relations reached such a low point that Israel directly accused the Obama administration of being hostile to Israel and considered former President Obama as unfriendly and almost like a “Personanon Grata”. Thus, the election of Donald Trump was celebrated and welcomed with relief by the majority of Israelis, since they believed that it could not get any worse.
