In the sights of DEI and ESG

In particular, the report states in its preface that it “examines the close collaboration between the US Embassy in Athens and various entities that – in alignment with the Greek government – ​​actively promote DEI** (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) and ESG*** (Environmental, Social, and Governance) as well as broader “woke” initiatives in both government agencies and institutions, as well as at the corporate level in Greece.” Some entities are even accused of promoting an agenda in favor of Muslim Brotherhood or cooperation with the China's interests.

What does the report say about the 12 bodies?

1. For the Hellenic-American Chamber of Commerce It states that “at first glance, it may not seem like a particularly WOKE organization. However, a closer look reveals some troubling patterns of tactics. Over the years, the American Hellenic Chamber of Commerce has actively promoted the principles of DEI, as well as ESG within Greek companies, with the sponsorship of the US Embassy in Athens, particularly during the time of Ambassador Geoffrey Pyatt.” The report raises the question “whether the American Hellenic Chamber of Commerce is receiving “dirty” money from USAID,” the American agency tasked with providing humanitarian aid abroad and already being dismantled by Elon Musk.

3. IDIS or IIR (Institute of International Relations). "The IIR, a program supported by the ultra-liberal Panteion University, has a special program called the “IDIS China Program” which promotes Chinese soft power. It has signed a Memorandum of Understanding between IDIS and the China Center of Great Britain.”
4. The Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP) "is a non-governmental organization specializing in the Balkan region and promoting globalization positions. It is funded by George Soros and the Rockefeller Foundation. It is the main advisor to Greek governments on foreign policy issues. It was the main think tank behind the Prespa Agreement with North Macedonia, which has since been a thorn in Greek politics. It is a friendly organization with regard to the Muslim Brotherhood"
5. 6. The American College of Greece (Pierce). “The liberal arts college, whose many young graduate students are hired as interns at the U.S. Embassy in Athens, is funded by USAID ostensibly to promote Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. In reality, it is funded to promote wokeism.”
6. The Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center "hosts many events of the US Embassy in Athens, Geoffrey Pyatt was a regular guest. He also promotes initiatives of the WOKE agenda as well as China's interests."
7. The Delphi Economic Forum, "a copy of the World Economic Forum, where mainly Greek businesses, governments and officials promote globalization and the liberal agenda. It shows strong interaction with the other institutes featured in the exhibition."
8. Dianeosis "it's a liberal NGO that does constant polling on various issues so that the woke agenda can be justified."
9. The Bodossakis Foundation «It funds initiatives for the WOKE agenda and has close cooperation with the US Embassy in Athens. Its president is a member of the ELIAMEP Board of Directors.”
10. The Laskaridis Foundation "promotes Chinese influence in Greece. Laskaridis owns a shipping company with many ships, built by Chinese shipyards on credit and constituting a Chinese asset. He created the first Confucius institutes decades ago in Greece, a "favored" partner of the Greek government and the power elites."
11. The NGO Solidarity Now (Solidarity Now) "is owned by Soros and is responsible for the influx of refugees into Greece. Its president is Stelios Zavvos, a regular speaker at the Athens Democracy Forum, and prominent members of the board of directors are Christos Rozakis and Antigone Lymberaki."

The interest of the exhibition

The main interest of this report is not the "accusations" - nor the possible exaggerations, possible untruths or even misinterpretations of the activity of the institutions mentioned. It is the suggestions of the regional, presumably competent, executives of the ruling Republican Party of the USA against Greek organizations and foundations, which are targeted as agents of a policy, which constitutes amedium threat to United States interestsThese views reflect the new order that President Trump and his team wish to impose on the West, especially in Europe and especially in the countries – allies dependent on Washington,

Part of these changes is the WOKE agenda that governments and institutions in Europe are following – or are supposed to be following. As well as two other similar actions: The OF which promotes the acceptance of Diversity, Equality and Inclusion by institutions and businesses, something that is considered foolish and counterproductive by the Trump system. And the ESG which calls on businesses to adopt in their strategy and management principles of environmental protection, social responsibility and modern governance – which is considered by the new American administration to be "costly" and "anti-development" and in any case "inappropriate" for American businesses operating in Europe.

Both DEI policies and ESG implementation are rapidly gaining ground in the US. For the European Commission, they are a political priority (although questioned by some countries). In Greece, they are also developing, according to the report "it must stop immediately" – something that indicates the policy that the new US ambassador to Athens will follow, Kimberly Guilfoyle. (As it also means a lot for organizations and individuals who depend on American funding and other partnerships).

(*) WOKE: An American term that originated from the "wake up" movement – ​​a slogan against racial discrimination in America. In modern times, "Woke" has become a political concept of "awakening" and "shielding" oppressed minorities. And it has evolved for both the Democratic Party and the Biden administration as a general need to be a politically conscious citizen and an aware person, as if you always stay "awake", and for the Republican Party and the President Trump a vague concept, founded on traditional leftist beliefs, that end up being a drag on the US and must be uprooted. The WOKE agenda is now considered a "crime of sanctification" for the Trump system.
