ON THE ROLE OF THE MERCHANTS AND LECTURERS OF THE GREEK DIASPORA IN EUROPE, IN THE PREPARATION OF THE REVOLUTION OF 1821.
The period of preparation for the Uprising, from the second siege of Vienna (1683), until the outbreak of the Greek Revolution in 1821, was highlighted by the program “Greeks Everywhere”, on Thursday, April 22, 2021, at 13:05, on ERT’s World Radio “The Voice of Greece”.
Guest speaker: Mr. Georgios Doudoumis, former Economic Ambassador, Author of 25 books, of historical, economic and social interest, and with participation in 8 more collective works, on developments in southeastern Europe, in the west of the 20th century. Mr. Doudoumis was born in Athens and completed his primary high school studies at the Kollegium Kalksburg in Austria. He is a graduate of the Kapodistrian University of Athens with a degree in Economic Sciences. He has a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration, from the Athens University of Economics and Business. He worked as Head of the Economic & Commercial Affairs Office at the Consulate General of Greece in Munich and at the Embassies of Greece in Jeddah, Belgrade, The Hague, Tirana, Sofia, Madrid and Berlin. In between, he provided his services to Central Services in Athens, such as the Ministry of Commerce. the Ministry of National Economy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Institute for Strategic Studies (ELISME) and a member of the Piraeus Society of Letters & Arts.
