The "invisible" Chinese satellite pointing at Iran American goals. What the Financial Times reveals.

In revelations about the underground support of China on Iran are moving forward Financial Times in their current report, according to which Tehran secretly acquired a Chinese spy satellite in late 2024. In fact, the satellite in question was used to monitor and target US military installations in the Middle East during recent conflicts.

In particular, as the FT reports, citing leaked Iranian military documents, the satellite by name TEE-01B, manufactured by the Chinese company Earth Eye Co., handed over to the Aerospace Force of the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) after its launch from China.

According to the same report, Iranian military commanders allegedly used the satellite to monitor critical American military installations, utilizing data such as time-stamped coordinates, satellite imagery and satellite orbit analysis.

The images, as mentioned, were taken in March and included locations before and after drone attacks on specific targets.

At the same time, as part of the agreement, the IRGC reportedly acquired access to commercial aviation ground stations of the Chinese company Emposat, which provides satellite control and data services with operations in Asia, Latin America and other regions.

The White House, CIA, Pentagon as well as China's Foreign Ministry, Defense Ministry and China's embassy in Washington did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Reuters, while the same happened with Earth Eye Co and Emposat.

The newspaper wrote that the White House did not comment on the relationship between Emposat and the IRGC, but a spokesperson referred to comments made by President Trump over the weekend warned that China would have "serious problems" if it supplied Iran with air defense systems..

Asked about the issue, the Chinese embassy in Washington responded to the newspaper: "We are categorically opposed to the parties involved spreading speculation and leaving misleading insinuations against China."

As the FT wrote, the satellite images taken are from Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia. on March 13, 14 and 15.

On March 14, Trump confirmed that American planes were hit at the base.

According to the report, the satellite also monitored the Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan and locations near the US Fifth Fleet naval base in Manama of Bahrain and in Erbil airport in Iraq around the time of the attacks in those areas for which the IRGC claimed responsibility.
