ARGOUZIS SAVVAS Brigadier General, ret.
He was born in Thessaloniki in 1946. He entered the Greek Army in 1964 and graduated in 1968 as a XNUMXst Class Sergeant. He was trained in the prescribed schools of his Army, at the NATO U.S. School, in the communications department of the U.S. Army's KEDB, and attended the STIAD and ASP.
He served in units of the Hellenic Navy and as a staff officer in the Hellenic Air Defense Command, Hellenic Air Defense Command, Hellenic Air Defense Command/D Branch and Hellenic National Defense General Staff. He was a member of the installation team of the "APOLLON" communications system and the study team of the corresponding "HERMES". He retired with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and subsequently for 6 years was an instructor in the subject of DM in all departments of the Hellenic Air Defense Command.
ARGYROPOULOS KONSTANTINOS Major General (retd.), Member, Board of Directors of ELISME, Publications Manager
He was born in Ioannina in 1945. He graduated from the Military Academy of the Hellenic Army as a Second Lieutenant of Infantry in 1968. He is a retired major general. He speaks English very well and Italian and Dutch satisfactorily. Co-founder and member of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Institute for Strategic Studies (EL.I.S.M.E.). He is a member of the editorial board of the magazines “Provlamatismi”, “Zosimades” and “Syndesmos 68”.
He writes articles for the publications of EL.I.S.M.E. and other publications of military interest. He has written the books "1974, the unjust", "Eugenia", "The finger-pointed", "The others", "The sympathized", "The ignored", "The reviewed", "The tried", "The convicted".
He works with symbolist oil painting. He has exhibited his paintings in twelve solo exhibitions (Waalwijk, Netherlands 1981, Katerinis, Pieria 1987, Naoussa, Imathia 1988, Verria, Imathia 1988, Bucharest, Romania 1993 and 1994, Constanta, Romania 1994, Kongalniceanu, Romania 1994, Kozani 1995, Nea Erythraia, Attica 1997, Monemvasia 2001, Cholargos 2012) and twelve group exhibitions (Nea Erythraia/Trinemia 1998, Chalandri 1999, Ioannina/Zosimaden actions 2002, PELT/N.Erythraia 2012, Aiantia 2012, Souli Corinth 2012, Sikyonia 2012, Salamis 2012, Perama Shipbuilding and Repair 2012, Galatsi Cultural 2012, UNESCO Hilton 2012, Gallery JK Kolonaki 2013). Dr. Evangelos Venetis was born in 1977 in Athens. He is a research associate on Islam and the Middle East at the Hellenic Institute for Strategic Studies (ELISME) and a specialist in Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies at the Center for Oriental Studies of the Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences. He is also the head of the Middle East Research Program of the Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP). He studied history (1999) and completed his postgraduate studies in the same field at the University of Ioannina (2001). He received his PhD in Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Edinburgh, UK (2006). He taught Islamic and Middle Eastern studies as a lecturer for four years at the Department of Arabic, Persian and Turkish at Leiden University in the Netherlands. His research interests include the Islamic world, Shiite Islam, the Iranian world and the Greek diaspora in the Middle East. He has written books and articles on various topics of the Middle East during the modern and medieval periods, including the monograph Hellenism in Modern Iran (19th – 21st century) (Athens 2013) and the forthcoming Shiite Islam, Doctrine, Worship. and
VORRIAS IOANNIS Vice Admiral HM re. a.
He was born in 1955 in Athens, entered the Hellenic Navy in 1973 and graduated in 1977 with the rank of Ensign (M) P.N.
He studied for 2 years at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, USA, from where he received a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1986. He was trained at the NATO School in Germany in crisis management and at the Defense Security Support Institute in Ohio, USA, from where he received a relevant degree. He taught at the Hellenic Navy as a professor and at the Naval War College.
He served in major surface units of the Destroyer Command for over 10 years, as Assistant to the Naval Attaché Washington and at the General Headquarters/Ministry of National Defense as Department Chief, at the rank of Commander as Deputy Chief of Staff at the General Headquarters/D3), at the Hellenic Navy as Chief Engineer of the Fleet and at the Ministry of National Defense as Director of the DAD.
In 2005, as a Commander, he assumed the duties of Director of the Directorate of Political-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) and the South-East European Initiative (SEDM) of the Hellenic National Defense General Staff, then he was assigned to the Hellenic Navy General Staff as Technical Inspector of the Hellenic Navy, as a Rear Admiral he assumed the duties of the Hellenic Navy Inspection Coordinator, after the duties of the Deputy Director of the Hellenic Navy General Staff until 2010, when he retired.
VOUTSINAS KON/TINOS Captain P. N. e. a., Member, Board of Directors of ELISME,
He was born in Athens.
He is a graduate of the Athens University of Economics and Business/Department of Business Administration.
He served as a Financial Officer of the Hellenic Navy on Warships and Land Services and was retired in 2011 with the rank of Captain at his own request.
His special interests include: The study of Greek and World History, International Relations as well as Greek and European Literature.
BRETTOS VASILEIOS
Lieutenant Commander (I) ea. He was born in KAVALA in 1959. He graduated from the Icarus School in 1981 as a Flying Officer.
During his career he served in combat units of the Air Force. and was an instructor and tester of F-4E aircraft with a total flight experience of over 3800 flight hours. He has successfully graduated from domestic schools, such as the Air Force Ground Instructors School, the Air Force War College, the Tactical Weapons School Air Force, but also abroad such as FLIGHT SAFETY SCHOOL of the University of California in the USA, Psychological Operations in the United Kingdom, Partner for Peace NATO, NATO Officers Course, NATO Information Operation Course, NATO Allied Command Europe Command and Control Course, NATO Electronic Warfare Course Germany, NATO European Security Course etc.
In addition to operational staff positions in Greece (Chief of Plans, 110th Air Force-Axos, ATA Plans Staff, Chief of Plans-Exercises, AFSOUTH Plans and Policy, and PfP Staff Element) and NATO (AFSOUTH Plans and Policy and PfP Staff Element), he served as Assistant to the Chief of Staff, AFSOUTH and Director of the Office of the Chief of Staff, Commander of the Tactical Weapons School (SOT), Commander of 117th Air Force, Air Defense Department at the Hellenic National Defense General Staff, Head of Branch Information Operations and Air Defense at the NATO International Military Staff (Info Ops and Air Defence Branch Chief International Military Staff) in Brussels and for three years Chairman of the Alliance's Supreme Electronic Warfare Committee (NEWAC).
He retired in 2014 from the position of Commander of the Hellenic Air Support Command (HAS) with the title of Honorary Commander of HAS.
During his career, he has been honored with all the expected distinctions and mementos, and in addition with a memento participation in NATO peacekeeping missions (SFOR) and has been awarded an honorable mention twice.
He is married to Dimitra Kordella, has two sons, Andreas and Nikos, and is currently a member of IDIS, ELISME, SASI, and a scientific associate of SETHA.
Vasilis Giannakopoulos served in the General Staff of National Defense (2000-2009), where he was involved in the analysis of geopolitical developments, mainly in the Middle East and North Africa region. He participated in missions abroad, with the aim of geostrategic analysis and the exchange of assessments on the major global challenges of the 2000s. In return, he analyzed and provided assessments to the military and political leadership on regional geopolitical developments. As an Air Force officer, he attended schools at home and abroad and was awarded a master's degree by the French Embassy in Greece. In 2009, he retired with the rank of brigade commander and since then he has been writing articles in Greek & foreign newspapers, magazines and online columns, and occasionally teaches at military schools.
GIANNAKOPOULOS PANTELIS, Brigadier General of the Hellenic Army, n.a.
-He was born in Almopia on 8.11.1944.
-He joined the Hellenic Army in 1964 and was named Second Lieutenant of the INFANTRY in 1968.
-He studied at the various schools of his Army.
-Distinguished in Military Pentathlon and Korean Trophy competitions.
-He excelled in shooting competitions with combat rifles, pistols and revolvers,
-Servants in the 507th Military District created an original settlement (in miniature) for living and survival during a period of guerrilla warfare, which was proposed to constitute the primary and basic material for the drafting of military regulations for the needs of the Army.
-He took part in the 1974 War in Cyprus without casualties. He was slightly injured on the last day of the war and was transferred to light duty status.
-The 3rd Army Corps assigned him the organization and operation of a Psychological Operations School for officer graduates of the Hellenic Military Academy, with himself as the sole instructor.
-He received six (6) honorable mentions and two (2) commendations from an equal number of Generals for his distinguished services in the small and large units he served in.
-For personal reasons, he refused to take exams at the War College.
-He retired in 1996.
-He wrote numerous studies, works, aids and essays.
-Organized five (5) serious libraries.
-He served as editor-in-chief of the magazines “ATHONITIS” and “TOLMON” and as a publishing consultant for three (3) more magazines.
-He received more than seven (7) literary awards.
-He is married and the father of two (2) girls.
-At the present stage of his life, he is the editor-in-chief for the second time of the magazine "ATHONITIS", while he writes articles in various publications selectively and upon request.
-He speaks English, Turkish and Bulgarian moderately.
GIANNITSOPOULOS THEODOROS
Lieutenant Commander Theodoros Giannitsopoulos, son of Nikolaos and Despina, was born in Vegora in 1956 and graduated from the practical department of Amyntaion Lyceum in 1974. He entered the School of Aviation Engineering - SMA of the Ikaros School in 1975 and graduated in 1979, as a Second Lieutenant, with the specialty of Electronic Engineering.
His studies include graduating from the American Air Force University as an Instructor, from the Air Force War College, from NATO schools as an Engineer and RADAR systems instructor, from specialization schools in the country as an Engineer and Business Software Developer for Air Defense, Communications and Computer Systems. In addition, he is a senior student of the Department of Business Administration of the Athens University of Economics and Business.
He served in the entire spectrum of Technical Support activities of the Air Force's Weapon Systems, as RADAR Maintenance Officer, as Support Officer and Programmer of the Air Defense Systems of the Hellenic Air Force, as a department head in the Air Support Command and in the Air General Staff responsible for issues of Aircraft Electronic Systems and Air Defense systems of the country (RADAR - Missile Systems) and as Commander of the 128th Electronics Telecommunications Training Squadron.
His duties include, among others, postings at NATO for two years in the Netherlands, at the NAPMO Organization, Support and Management of NATO AWACS aircraft, at the Air General Staff as Director of the Telecommunications Directorate. Electronics, where he simultaneously served for two years as National Representative on the Board of Directors (BOD) of the NAPMO (AWACS) Organization in the Netherlands, in the Air Support Command as Director of Branch C, where he simultaneously served for two years as National Representative on the Board of Directors (BOD) of the NATO Maintenance and Supply Organization NAMSO in Luxembourg, and in the Air Force General Staff as Director of Branch C, LOGISTICS and Infrastructure of the Air Force, from where he retired in March 2010 as Lieutenant Commander and was awarded the Title (e.t.) of Honorary Director of Branch C of the Hellenic Air Force.
In addition to his duties, he was responsible for the implementation, as Program Manager, of important weapons systems programs of the Hellenic Air Force, such as the upgrade of the AVIONICS systems of the F-4 PI 2000 fighters, the acquisition of the FLIGHT SIMULATOR of the F-16 fighters and the modern three-dimensional RADAR S-743 and HR-3000 of the country's Air Defense system.
He has been awarded all the medals and mementos corresponding to his specialty and rank. He has been awarded an Honorable Mention by the Hellenic Air Force for his contribution to the design, development and installation of the Electronic Security System of the 128th SETI, as the first pilot fully Integrated Electronic Security System for the entire Unit and its Vital Areas, in the Hellenic Air Force. He has been awarded a Diploma by the Hellenic Air Force in recognition of his contribution to the holding of the Olympic Games in Athens in 2004, as Commander of the 128th SETI, Unit of the Olympic Games Security Forces.
Lieutenant General Giannitsopoulos Theodoros and his wife Korina have two children, their daughter Kalliopi and their son Nikolaos.
GARTZONIKAS PANAGIOTIS
Lieutenant General (retd). He comes from Syrrako, Ioannina and graduated from the Military Academy of the Hellenic Army in 1981. He has commanded at all levels from platoon to division, while he served as commander of the 88th Infantry Division in Lemnos and the XNUMXth Armored Division. He has also served in various staff positions, including director of the Plans Directorate of the General Staff.
In terms of international experience, he participated in a mission to Israel in 1996 as a European Union observer of the first Palestinian elections. In addition, he served for three years in the Rapid Reaction Corps (ARRC). NATO in Germany, where he was head of the Planning Team. In these duties, in 2006 he went with the ARRC headquarters to Afghanistan for eight months.
His military education includes all military schools, the War College and the National Defense Academy. He has also attended the Division Commanders (Generals) department of the German Armored Academy.
Academically, he earned two Master's degrees from Monterey, California (NPS), in Strategic Studies and Operational Analysis. He is currently a doctoral candidate in the Department of Political Science and Public Administration of the Kapodistrian University of Athens and is also a lecturer at the National Defense School.
GRIVAKOS EVANGELOS
Lieutenant General (retd) – Lawyer. Evangelos Grivakos was born in Athens but hails from Mani, Laconia.
He entered the Military Cadet School in 1964 and graduated in 1968 with the rank of Second Lieutenant of Infantry. As a junior officer he served in various Units in Macedonia, in Evros and in Cyprus, in 1975. He then served as Battalion Commander, Regiment Commander and Chief of Staff of a Large Unit. He held staff positions in the ASDEN, in the NATO Military Department of the 4th General Staff Office and from 1992 to 1995, at the NATO Multinational Force Headquarters (ARRC), as Senior National Representative. He studied at the Hellenic War College, the National Defense College and the Major Unit Commanders' Course of the US Infantry School. He retired in 2001 with the rank of Lieutenant General.
GRIVAS KONSTANTINOS
Konstantinos Grivas teaches the course Geopolitics at the Military Cadet School and Geography of Security and Disarmament at the Department of Turkish and Modern Asian Studies of the University of Athens. He also teaches Geopolitics and Modern Military Technologies at the National Defense Academy (SETHA), the National Security Academy and the Air Force Command and Staff School. He has worked as head of the research sector for new weapons technologies at the Institute for Defense Analyses of the Ministry of Defense. From 1996 to 2004 he was an accredited journalist at the Ministry of Defense. He has worked as editor-in-chief of the magazines Strategy and War & History and as editorial director of the magazine Geopolitics. Livanis Publications publishes his study “The End of Oil and the Beginning of the New American Geostrategy”, “China’s Military Rise and the Geopolitics of War in the Middle East” and the war fiction novels “The War and the Shadow” and “Final Solution”. He has also written the studies “War in the 21st Century”, “The Awakening of the Nightmare”, “2021. Greek Defense Strategy for the 21st Century” (jointly with Zacharias Michas) and “Thor’s Hammer. Advanced Missiles and Weapons for the 21st Century” (Institute for Defense Analyses), as well as the science fiction novels “2020. Attack on Greece” and “The Trumpet of the Apocalypse”.
DASKALAKIS IPPOKRATIS Lieutenant General (retd.), Member, Board of Directors of ELISME, Director of Studies
Ippokrates Daskalakis was born in Thessaloniki, on December 24, 1961. After graduating from the Military Academy for Cadets (1979-1983), he was named Second Lieutenant of Artillery and continued his training at the Artillery Academy as well as at all the military schools of the Artillery weapon required for his rank and position.
During the period 1985-1995 he was assigned to various combat units of the Artillery and exercised command duties from various positions and ranks. He was trained in the USA in the HAWK Anti-Aircraft System (1990) and later attended the Strategic Intelligence School in Washington DC (1997).
He studies at the Higher War College (1996-1997), now qualified as a Staff Officer and gains staff experience in the Artillery Directorate of the Army General Staff (1997-2000), responsible for the operational readiness and modernization of the "HAWK" anti-aircraft system.
In 2000, he was assigned for 3 years to NATO Headquarters in Naples, Italy, as Head of the Balkans Intelligence Assessment Department and participated in the European Union's "CONCORDIA" mission in FYROM. Upon returning to Greece, he assumed command for two years. Light Anti-Aircraft Artillery Squadron in Kos.
He participated for six months (2006) in the European Union's "ALTHEA" operation in Bosnia-Herzegovina. He was subsequently appointed head of the Anti-Aircraft Artillery Wing in the Artillery Directorate of the General Staff of the Army.
After graduating from the National Defense College (2008), he was assigned for three years to the NATO Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers (SHAPE) in Belgium, responsible for NATO's military cooperation with other countries and subsequently to the crisis management department with focus on the Balkans, countering terrorism and piracy, and the Libyan crisis.
On May 02, 2011, he assumed command of the Crete Firing Range (NATO Missile Firing Installations-NAMFI), a position he held until April 2013, when he retired with the rank of Lieutenant General (June 2013).
In 2003 he graduated from the Department of International and European Studies of Panteion University of Athens. and holds a Master's Degree in International Relations and Strategic Studies (2008) from the same University. Since early 2014, he has been a member of the Hellenic Institute for Strategic Studies (ELISME).
He speaks English.
He is married to Maria Nomikou, and they have a son, Raphael-Chrysovalantis Daskalakis (1992).
In his free time, he enjoys swimming, cycling, traveling, and reading books on military history and international relations and strategy.
DIAMANTOPOULOS ARIS
Aris Diamantopoulos was born in Nafpaktos, Aitoloakarnania, in 1938. He is married and the father of two male university graduates, who placed him on the honorary pedestal of grandfather.
He graduated from the Military Academy of Cadets in 1961 and was discharged with the rank of Lieutenant General.
In addition to military training, he received and continues to receive training in other branches of Science:
•During the years 1979-1984 and before the creation of University Schools - parallel to his military duties - he completed his studies in Psychology at a Private College.
•After his retirement, he attended Postgraduate Studies in Philosophy from renowned Professors, resulting in the year 2000 in being awarded a Doctorate in Philosophy from the University of Athens.
He is an active member of University Philosophical Societies and Strategic Institutes.
He has authored a number of scientific books, studies and articles published in newspapers and magazines and continues his writing work.
His studies in Philosophy continue, in parallel with other branches of Science, with the main focus being Natural Science, having as its sole motivation and purpose the promotion of science through philosophy.
A new example of his scientific pursuits is the present seven-volume work on the Pre-Socratic Natural Philosophers with the general title:
"The Greek Philosophers and Physics".

DEMESTICHAS GREGORIOS
Vice Admiral, former Navy, Honorary Fleet Commander. Born in Athens in 1940, he entered the Naval Cadet School (S.N.D.) in 1956 and graduated in 1960 as a Combat Ensign. As a junior officer he served on Surface Ships and as Commander of Fast Boats. As a senior officer he served as Commander of a Missile Squadron, Commander of a Missile Squadron, in Staff positions, Commander of the Frigate HELLI which he received in the Netherlands and Commander of a Destroyer Squadron. As a senior officer he served in the rank of Admiral as Commander of the Salamis Naval Station and Commander of Destroyers, in the rank of Rear Admiral as Commander of Naval Training and Deputy Chief of the General Staff and in the rank of Vice Admiral as Commander of the Fleet for two years, a position from which he resigned at the end of 1993 due to the reinstatement of retired officers to leadership positions in the Armed Forces.
As a Lieutenant Commander and during the initial stages of the creation and development of the Cyprus Navy, he voluntarily went, under a pseudonym, to Cyprus, activated and took over as Commander for 18 months of a Russian-made Torpedo Boat (1956-1966).
In May 1973 he was arrested and imprisoned for his participation in the anti-dictatorship movement of the Navy, he was released at the end of August 1973 with the granting of a general amnesty and was subsequently discharged. He returned to the Navy in 1974 after the restoration of Democracy. As a Missile Commander he participated in the group of ships that faced the Greek-Turkish crisis in August 1976 on the issue of the continental shelf.
As Commander of the Destroyer Squadron, he was appointed head of the group of ships that sailed to Kalamata immediately after the earthquakes of September 1986 and that provided assistance to the earthquake victims and participated in their rescue, while during the Greek-Turkish crisis of March 1987 he assumed the tactical Command of a group of ships in the North Aegean region with the mission of prohibiting seismic surveys by Turkish ships.
He received further training in England and received a degree in Communications. He studied at the Higher Naval War College and the British Tactical School. He is a graduate of the Economics Department of the Law School of the University of Athens and of Shipping Law of the London School of Economics. He speaks English and French.
He has been honored with decorations, medals and mementos.
After his retirement, he became active in the private sector in managerial positions. He is a founding member of the Hellenic Society for Strategic Studies (HELESME), of which he was the first President for four years and is still a member. He is also a founding member of Transparency International (HELLAS), of which he is still a member. He participates as a member in Foundations, Associations of a humanitarian nature.

Historian – Writer. The historian, philologist and essayist Sarantos I. Kargakos was born in 1937 in Gytheio, Laconia.
During the Civil War, he settled in Athens. He studied Classical Philology at the University of Athens, where he had been admitted third without being given a scholarship, while working as a student.
He played a leading role in the student movement of 1961-1963 and was a rapporteur of the 15% for education. He worked for 35 years in the largest private schools in Athens and in the largest tutoring organizations of which he was a founding member ("Heraklitos", "Aristotle"). KATSAROS PANAGIOTIS
Lieutenant Commander (retd) Panagiotis Katsaros was born in Kastania, Karditsa in 1958. Within the framework of the Single European Sky, he served as President of the MILITARY COORDINATION GROUP of the BLEU MED countries (Italy-Greece-Cyprus-Malta 2011-2013). At the same time, he served as President of the Greek Military History Committee/National Defense General Staff.

Lieutenant General (retd) Ioannis Baltzoi was born in Arta in 1954. He finished the sixth grade High School in Arta in 1972 and was admitted to the Military Academy of Cadets, where he graduated in 1976, being appointed Second Lieutenant of the Cavalry - Armored Corps (TΘ).
He served in Evros, Thrace, the islands of the Eastern Aegean, in Western Greece and in the center, in all the positions provided for in all grades, mainly in combat positions, as well as in staff positions.
He also served as an observer and Operations Officer of ECMM (European Community Monitor Vision), in 1992-93, during the Bosnian War, in 1995-2000 as an Aide to the President of the Republic, Mr. Costis Stefanopoulos, and AKAM Tel Aviv, in 2000-2003, during the Al-Aqsa Intifada.

He served for over 25 years in the Hellenic Air Force in various Logistics positions from “First Line Manager to Senior Logistics Officer and to Director of Logistics and Project Manager. Mrs. Marietta Panagiotopoulou was born in Athens.
He is a graduate of the School of Philosophy of the Kapodistrian University of Athens.
Graduate of Panteion University in Political and Economic Sciences/specialization in Public Administration as well as a Master's degree from the University of Marne La Vallee, France.
He is very fluent in English, French and Romanian and has a basic knowledge of German.
She is a former senior administrative officer of the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs with previous service in NATO/Brussels twice, at the Consulate General of Greece in Stuttgart, Director of Administration at the Embassy of Bucharest and missions at the Embassy of Belgrade, Skopje Office and the Embassy of Ljubljana. She served in various positions in the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs and was for six years Head of the Scholarships Department at the Directorate of Educational Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the purpose of managing educational programs for foreigners.
After leaving the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2009, she worked until the end of 2016 as Chief of Staff at the European Public Law Organization and then as an Expert in education and human resources management.
Since March 2017, she has been a member and public relations manager of the Hellenic Institute for Strategic Studies. Lieutenant General (retd.), Honorary First Deputy Chief of the Hellenic National Defense General Staff
Lieutenant General (retd) Stylianos Panagopoulos, born Charalambous, was born in November 1947 in Athens, where he completed his high school studies.
He entered the Military Cadet School (MSS), from which he graduated in 1971, as a Second Lieutenant of Artillery.
During his service he studied:
-In all the intended schools of his weapon.
-At the Higher War College.
-At the National Defense Academy.
-At the Law School of the University of Athens, you "earned" the relevant degree in 1983.
-At the NATO Operations Planning and Conduct School.
Since his appointment as Second Lieutenant, he served in all the positions provided for his rank in the Expeditionary Units of his Army.
He was a Chief of Staff at the Division level, General Staff of the Army, Chief of Planning at the NATO Headquarters in Naples, Italy, and Director of Staff at the NATO Headquarters in Greece.
As a senior officer, he served as Chief of Staff of the 4th SS, Director of Planning and Operations of the General Staff, Director of the 1st Branch of the Hellenic National Defense General Staff, Chief of Staff of the Hellenic National Defense General Staff, and as Lieutenant General Commander of the 4th SS and Deputy Chief of the Hellenic National Defense General Staff.
During his military career, he was honored with all the decorations and medals prescribed by his position and rank.
He was placed on ex officio retirement as a successful termination due to the appointment of a younger person to the position of Chief of the General Staff.

CITIZEN STYLIANOS
Vice-Admiral, (r) Dr. Stylianos Politis HN was born in Athens, Greece. He studied in the Hellenic Naval Academy and attended the Naval War College, the National Defense College and other military schools. He also graduated from the Public Law and Political Sciences Faculty of the Law School of Athens University. He did a doctoral thesis on the legal regime of the land-locked states and obtained his doctorate by the Faculty of Bilateral Relations International Law of Panteion University, Athens.
He was appointed to the Fleet for fourteen years and served as Division Commander, Commander of various ships, First Mate, Operation, Communication and Electronic Warfare officer. He was also appointed to the General Staff as a Director and Head of various Divisions, as well as to the National Intelligence Service, Operation Branch. He has been honored with various medals and distinctions.
He lectured for four years in the Universities of the Aegean and Pireaus (undergraduate and postgraduate degrees). For several years he has been lecturing at the Naval Academy, the Naval War College and the National Defense College. He has been a scientific collaborator of the Hellenic Institute of International and Foreign Law since May 2000. He has published many articles in Greek and international revues.
He is a licensed pilot. He is married and has two children..
ROZOLIS ANASTASIOS
President of SEKPY. Born in Athens in 1964.
In 1986 he graduated from the Athens University of Economics and Business with a specialization in Economic Analysis.
He served his term in the National Assembly from 10/1986-7/1988.
He has been working in the Domestic Private Defense Industry sector since 1988 and is currently the CEO of AKMON SA, a Greek company producing electronic components for defense applications.
He has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Hellenic Defense Manufacturers (AHDM) since 2010 and has been elected President of the Association since 2012.

SARANTINOS ACHILLEOS-EVANGELOS, Member of the Board of Directors of ELISME
Major General (retd) Sarantinos Achilleas was born in Corinth on 11.9.1950. He entered the Military Academy on 02.10.1968 and graduated in 1972 as a Second Lieutenant of Infantry.
He served in expeditionary units of his branch and successfully graduated from all the schools corresponding to his respective rank. He served as an instructor at the Military Academy of the Hellenic Army (MAA), the Higher War College (HWCC) and a training advisor at the National Defense Academy (NDA). He was discharged in 2007.
He speaks English (Fluent).
He is President of the Association of Retired Army Officers of the Prefecture of Corinth. Member of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Institute for Strategic Studies (ELISME). Member of the Board of Directors of the Alumni of the Hellenic Institute of Strategic Studies, Class of 1972. Member of the Association of Modellers of Greece (IPMS).
He is married to Margarita Giannousopoulou and has a son and a daughter, 31 and 27 years old respectively.
SEKERIS GEORGE E.
G. E. Sekeris is an ambassador at large. For many years he has taught at the country's military schools and at the Police Academy and has written articles for the daily and periodical press. He has represented Greece in a number of European capitals, at international conferences and at NATO, of which he also served as Executive Secretary. Disagreeing with government policy, he resigned from the diplomatic service twice - in 1973 and 1987 - the second time permanently.
Skliris Stratos
Lieutenant Commander (retd) Stratos Skliris entered the Icarus School in 1966, from where he graduated as Commander of the 42nd Squadron of the Hellenic Air Force.
He served for 30 years in the Hellenic Air Force, holding the most important operational positions in the Air Force Branch at the Hellenic Air Force Headquarters, Hellenic Air Force Headquarters and Hellenic National Defense Headquarters.
In particular, as Commander of the Air Tactics Center for 2 years, he supervised the development of tactics for the new F-16 fighter aircraft and later, as Commander of the 114th Fighter Wing - Tanagra, he handled the issue of the integration and combat availability of the new MIRAGE-2000 Fighters in the Hellenic Air Force.
During the critical period of 1990-91, he was assigned the duties of Director of Defense Planning and Armaments of the Hellenic National Defense General Staff and in 1992-1995 he served as Deputy Director of Operations of the Hellenic National Defense General Staff (responsible for National Plans, Exercises and CYPRUS Issues). During this sensitive transitional period, he handled national issues for the Greek Armed Forces, such as Participation in Peacekeeping Operations, "Golden Fleece", Exercises Outside National Territory (EAT), Crisis Management System.
After his retirement in 1996, he was a Full-Time Professor at DEREE/American College of Greece, Department of Managerial/Organizational Behavior. He is also appointed on an annually renewable basis as a Regular Lecturer at the Hellenic Police Academy, the Air Force Command School, the Hellenic National Defence Force and the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the subject of "Crisis Management".
He has been a Board Member of the Hellenic Aviation Academy and Transparency International-Greece for 10 years. He recently represented the GN-E at a special conference in London on the subject of "Arms Trade" and at the GN Annual General Meeting in Kenya.
With the transformation of ELESME, as a founding member, he was elected Director of Studies of the Hellenic Institute for Strategic Studies and is available to collaborate with all its members and to actively and specifically assist the mission of ELISME by undertaking work in the Sectors of Defense-Security, Internal and Foreign Affairs of the country.
STAMATOPOULOS KOSTAS M.
He was born in Athens. He studied history, geography and archaeology in France. He holds a doctorate in Byzantine history from the Sorbonne University. In addition to his doctoral thesis, his works include:

From 1997 to 2007, he served in Army Aviation Units and in the Army Aviation Directorate of the General Staff.
From 2007 to 2010, he served as the representative of the Ministry of National Defense at the NHI Consortium in Aix-en-Provence (France), for the monitoring of the NH-90 helicopter procurement contract.
He also served as an instructor in the Army Tactical Aviation at the Infantry School and as a training department head in the Army Aviation Directorate of the General Staff.
He graduated from the Advanced Tactical Training Department of the US Army Aviation (2005) and from the Higher Interbranch War College (2012), first in his class.
He holds a Master 2, Law, Economics, Management with a specialization in Comparative Military History, Geostrategy, Defense and Security, from the University of Marseille.
He retired at his own request in 2014 with the rank of Colonel.
He is a scientific associate of the Institute for Continuing Education of the Hellenic National Defense General Staff, the Institute for Defense and Security Analyses (i-‐sda), an external associate of the Institute of International Relations of Panteion University, a scientific advisor to Eurasia publications, and since September 2014 a member of ELISME.
Since October 2014, he has been a doctoral candidate at the Department of Economics of the University of Peloponnese with a focus on Geoeconomics.

Dr. Evangelos Tempos, who edits the column “International Institutions and Greece”, holds a PhD in “Military History” from the University of York in Great Britain and two postgraduate degrees, one from the University of Birmingham, also in Great Britain in “International Relations-Defense”, and the other from the Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences, Department of International and European Studies, Specialization: European Union and Developing Countries, co-organized by the 2012nd European Jean Monnet Chair of Panteion University and the Institute of International Relations (IRIS). Grigoris I. Tsaltas was born in Athens. He studied political science at Panteion A.S.P.E. He received his postgraduate studies in France. Christos Minagias was born in 1960 in Eleftheroupoli, Kavala. In 1978 he entered the Military Cadet School, from which he graduated in 1982 as a second lieutenant in infantry. Lieutenant General (retd) Ioannis Baltzoi was born in Arta in 1954. He finished the sixth grade High School in Arta in 1972 and was admitted to the Military Academy of Cadets, where he graduated in 1976, being appointed Second Lieutenant of the Cavalry - Armored Corps (TΘ).

Major General (retd) Sarantinos Achilleas was born in Corinth on 11.9.1950. He entered the Military Academy on 02.10.1968 and graduated in 1972 as a Second Lieutenant of Infantry.
He served in expeditionary units of his branch and successfully graduated from all the schools corresponding to his respective rank. He served as an instructor at the Military Academy of the Hellenic Army (MAA), the Higher War College (HWCC) and a training advisor at the National Defense Academy (NDA). He was discharged in 2007.

SEKERIS GEORGE E.
G. E. Sekeris is an ambassador at large. For many years he has taught at the country's military schools and at the Police Academy and has written articles for the daily and periodical press. SISSOURAS ARIS
Aris Sissouras is Emeritus Professor of the University of Patras. He studied Mathematics at the University of Athens and Operations Research at the Universities of Birmingham (MSc) and Manchester (UMIST), where he received his PhD. He taught Operations Research and Management at the Department of Management Sciences at the University of Manchester as a Lecturer during the five-year period 1970-1975. His research focused on the field of health services planning and management. Lieutenant Commander (retd) Stratos Skliris entered the Icarus School in 1966, from where he graduated as Commander of the 42nd Squadron of the Hellenic Air Force.
He served for 30 years in the Hellenic Air Force, holding the most important operational positions in the Air Force Branch at the Hellenic Air Force Headquarters, Hellenic Air Force Headquarters and Hellenic National Defense Headquarters.

He was the Ministry of National Defense's Liaison to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for National Issues and to our National Delegation to the IMO for 15 years, and for three years he represented the Ministry of National Defense at our Permanent Delegation to NATO for Law of the Sea issues.
He has taught International Law of the Sea, Law of Armed Conflict and Humanitarian Law.
